The Lumineers brought their Automatic World Tour to a sold-out Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, delivering a night of heartfelt folk-rock anthems, communal singalongs, and sincere emotion. The crowd, ranging from long-time fans to first timers, was fully engaged from start to finish.

Hippo Campus opened the show with a vibrant, energetic set, warming up the arena with indie-pop gems like “South” and “Buttercup.” Their set blended upbeat tracks and dreamy slow burners, pulling songs from LP3, Bambi, and Landmark. The band’s chemistry was tight, the vocals crisp, and the crowd fully engaged. The lighting was minimal but effective, keeping the focus on the music. Frontman Jake Luppen connected easily with the crowd, adding a personal, relaxed vibe to the show.

When The Lumineers took the stage, the mood shifted into something powerful yet personal. Opening with tracks from their latest album Automatic, including “Same Old Song” and “Bright Side,” the band highlighted their evolution while still honoring the sound fans know and love. Wesley Schultz’s raw, passionate vocals cut through the room, matched by the driving rhythm of Jeremiah Fraites on drums and piano.

Fan-favorite moments came early and often. The crowd lit up during “Cleopatra,” sang every word to “Ophelia,” and swayed to “Angela.” The stripped-down arrangement of “Slow It Down” offered a breath of emotional depth, while the full-band version of “Stubborn Love” closed the night with roaring energy and one last unified chorus from the crowd.

The production was thoughtful — warm lighting, glowing backdrops, and a catwalk-style stage setup that let the band get closer to the audience. Despite the arena setting, the show often felt as intimate as a living room performance, a testament to The Lumineers’ ability to connect deeply with fans.

Final Thoughts:

The Lumineers proved once again that they’re more than a festival headliner — they’re storytellers, capable of turning large venues into shared emotional spaces. With Hippo Campus delivering a tight opening and a perfectly paced headline set, the night was unforgettable from start to finish.
