Halestorm, I Prevail, Hollywood Undead…Blow Us Away in Bridgeport


In a night of explosive performances and electrifying energy, Hartford HealthCare Theater in Connecticut played host to an unforgettable lineup featuring Fit For A King, Hollywood Undead, I Prevail, and Halestorm. Each band delivered a distinct and compelling set, showcasing their musical talent and the impact of their award-winning albums. The Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater officially opened its doors in July 2021. The venue can accommodate around 5,700 attendees, offering a mix of seated and general admission spaces. The venue prides itself on modern amenities, improved acoustics, and a visually appealing design with a unique tensile roof structure. The Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater has quickly become a significant cultural and entertainment hub in Bridgeport, contributing to the city's revitalization and offering a premier destination for live music and events in the region.

Fit For a King opened the night with their signature metal-core sound, setting a high bar for the evening that the follow up bands would have to challenge. The band's performance was a dynamic showcase of their intricate guitar work and powerful vocals. From the moment they took the stage, it was clear that this metal-core powerhouse was here to make a statement. Tracks from their acclaimed albums, such as "The Path" and "Breaking the Mirror," blasted through the venue, underscoring their mastery of both aggressive and melodic elements. The intensity of their set demonstrated why they continue to be a force in the metal-core scene.

Following Fit For A King, Hollywood Undead took to the stage with their trademark fusion of rap-rock and alternative metal. Their set was a high-energy spectacle, featuring anthems like "Undead" and "Day of the Dead" that had the audience singing along and moving with every smash of the snare drum. Hollywood Undead’s ability to blend rap verses with hard-hitting rock made their performance both unique and engaging, showcasing their versatility and enduring appeal. HU has been a favorite band of mine for almost a decade. I had a chance to meet the guys last year and they were the most down to earth group of people you could ever run in to.

I Prevail followed with a powerful set that underscored their status as one of the leading bands in modern metal-core. Their performance, featuring hits like "Bow Down" and "Breaking Down," demonstrated their skillful mix of intense riffs and melodic hooks. I Prevail’s energetic stage presence and emotional delivery captivated all of us in attendance, highlighting their impressive range and solidifying their reputation as one of the genre's top acts. From the moment they took the stage, and the band maintained an intense, high-energy presence throughout the night. Vocalists Brian Burkheiser and Eric Vanlerberghe's dynamic interplay was a standout, with Burkheiser's melodic vocals perfectly complementing Vanlerberghe's raw screams. Steve Menoian’s intricate guitar work and Dylan Bowman's rhythm guitar providing a solid foundation. Gabe Helguera on drums delivered a relentless performance, driving the energy with his powerful beats. The cohesion and chemistry among the band members were evident, making their live renditions as tight as their studio recordings. The sound quality at the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater was exceptional, with every instrument and vocal line coming through clearly, allowing fans to fully appreciate the complexity of I Prevail’s music

The night concluded with Halestorm, whose performance was nothing short of spectacular. Known for their high-octane rock and Lzzy Hale’s commanding vocals, Halestorm brought an explosive energy to the stage. Their set, featuring crowd favorites like "Love Bites (So Do I)" and "I Miss the Misery," showcased their exceptional musical talent and relentless energy. Hale’s dynamic presence and the band’s powerful sound provided a thrilling end to an already impressive lineup. Hale continued hitting every high note with precision and passion. Guitarist Joe Hottinger delivered blistering solos and heavy riffs that complemented Hale's dynamic range. Bassist Josh Smith provided a solid backbone with his punchy bass lines, while drummer Arejay Hale’s electrifying performance, including his renowned drum solos, added an extra layer of intensity to the show.  This was one of the best performances I have ever seen. We cannot wait to see these bands again.

Each band contributed its unique flair to the evening, creating a concert experience that was diverse and exhilarating. From the intense metal-core of Fit For A King and I Prevail to the genre-blending style of Hollywood Undead and the electrifying rock of Halestorm, AMP Theater was the perfect backdrop for this night of unforgettable music. Fans left the venue buzzing, having witnessed a stellar display of musical prowess and stage presence from some of the most exciting acts in rock and metal today. For rock enthusiasts, a Halestorm concert is a must-attend event. The band’s ability to blend raw emotion with high-energy rock makes for a live performance that is both powerful and unforgettable. Halestorm continues to prove why they are one of the leading acts in modern rock, delivering a show that leaves fans craving more.
